US Conference for the WCC Annual Meeting, December 2nd-4th, 2008

The Young Adult Task force of the US Conference for the WCC will address church leaders at the US Conference for the WCC's annual meeting, "Claiming God's Promise: Towards the International Ecumenical Peace Convocation," to be held in Washington, DC, Dec. 2nd-4th!

The task force will present on its accomplishments throughout the last year, and put forward some recommendations for the young adult ecumenical movement in 2009. This year's annual meeting has been strategically located in our nation's capital to provide an opportunity for WCC member churches in the US to deliver a message outlining hopes for a new administration in moving our nation forward. Other themes to be addressed will include the Middle East, Racial Reconciliation and Climate Change.

Distinguished guest speakers will include NCC-USA General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Michael Kinnamon, distinguished author on ethics and climate change, Dr. Larry Rasmussen, Dr. Rodney Sadler, Associate Professor of Bible at Union Theological Seminary and the Presbyterian School of Christian Education, and Elizabeth Ferris, Co-Director of the Brookings-Bern Project on Internal Displacement.

The young adult task force will present on Tuesday, December 2nd at 7pm. The annual meeting will take place at the Omni Shores Hotel in Washington, DC.
