IFCO / Pastors for Peace

IFCO/Pastors for Peace is organizing a fact-finding delegation to Honduras in response to the increasing levels of repression and human rights violations in the country since the military coup of June 28th, 2009. The delegation will investigate the reality for communities and grassroots organizations after the coup and their ongoing struggles for peace with justice. We will also learn about the role that U.S. foreign policy has played in the history of Honduras and its continued negative impact today.

Young Adult Participation in the Commission on the Status of Women

Monday morning awoke us with the shaking of timbrels, the beating of drums and the raising of voices as we kicked off the first week of the 54th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women with the song of Miriam. Leading the charge that morning were thirty-four delegates between the ages of 18 and 35. Through a collaborative effort between the National Council of Churches, the World Student Christian Federation, the Episcopal Church and others, an international, ecumenical delegation of young adult delegates took their place at the table with Ecumenical Women this year in new and exciting ways.

Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary will host an ecumenical peace conference July 28-31, 2010, focusing on contemporary North American responses to war. Christian peacemakers of all traditions and disciplines are invited to attend this event.
