Young Adult Ecumenical Forum 2008
Over fifty young adults gathered for the fifth annual Young Adult Ecumenical Forum at Wesley Seminary in Washington, D.C. This year's event focused on the issue of Human Trafficking and Modern-Day Slavery. YAEF 2008 brought together its most ecumenically and culturally diverse group to date, representing numerous universities, seminaries and divinity schools from throughout the United States. Speakers from organizations such as the Polaris Project, and the Coalition of Immokalee Workers educated participants on the massive scale of trafficking and slavery globally, and the outrageous demand from the United States that enables such an outrage to exist. Throughout the three-day event, the young adults grew in relationship to one another, and shared in ecumenical worship together, while connecting to the wider seminary community at Wesley.
