Calling Religious Youth to participate in the Religions for Peace North American Young Adults Retreat
15-17 April 2011 | New York
Religions for Peace is currently calling for vibrant and active North American religious young adults to participate in a three-day retreat, to be held in Stony Point, New York, April 15-17, 2011.
The retreat will equip participants with the skills and knowledge to advance multi-religious cooperation for peace in the North American context. It will also address how religious youth can help shape the Religions for Peace Arms Down! Campaign (http://www.armsdown.net/) and advocate for disarmament in both the United States and Canada.
For more information on the North American Young Adults Retreat: http://religionsforpeace.org/initiatives/global-youth-network/young-adult-retreat.html
Eligible candidates should be between the ages of 18-35, and represent a religious community or organization.
There is no participation fee for the program. The organizers will cover costs for all Retreat-related activities, including accommodations, on-site meals, and local transportation. Travel expenses to/from New York are expected to be covered by individual participants or by their sponsoring organizations. Persons who must travel a significant distance to participate and lack any means of personal or institutional support may request consideration for very limited travel scholarships.
Individuals and organizations participating in the retreat will have the opportunity to be members of the North American Interfaith Youth Network and to contribute to the youth participation in the projected 2012 IX World Assembly of Religions for Peace.
To apply for the Retreat, please fill out the attached application form and send to Daniel Calder at dcalder (at) religionsforpeace.org by March 15th 2011. Nominations are also welcome.
Once your application has been received and accepted, additional information on the event will be sent to you.
